The HCC Alumni Association hosts the annual Alumni Games the first weekend of the Fall semester, when the Scottie baseball, cross country, football, softball, and volleyball teams take on Scottie alumni who played those sports. The Association also hosts Homecoming events, including a reunion of each year's 50 year class of Golden Graduates. HCC Alumni Day Set for October 1
The annual alumni gathering will take on a bit less formal atmosphere this year. The Highland Community College Alumni Association Board of Directors decided to honor HCC alumni with a renewed effort to make Homecoming a stronger event. This year’s 50 year class, the class of 1961, will be honored during Homecoming activities which is set for October 1, 2011. All Alumni classes in attendance will be recognized.
The day will start with alumni registration in the HCC Library beginning at 9:00 a.m. Alumni will then have time to tour campus and get reacquainted before an early luncheon beginning at 11:00 a.m. The HCC Lads and Lasies will serenade the alumni during lunch and President
David Reist will update everyone on what has been
happening at HCC.
Alumni will be seated in a special reserved section at the stadium center for recognition prior to the start of the football game. All alumni who attend the luncheon will receive a pass to attend the game. An alumni hospitality room will be set up inside the Scottie Stadium Center for all alumni who have registered to enjoy.
Luncheon tickets are $10 in advance and may be sent to the HCC Alumni Office. If you prefer to pay at the door, the cost will be $12 when reserved by telephone or email and paid for at the door and cost for the luncheon will be $15 for anyone who reserves their tickets after September 23 or purchases them at the door on October 1. ALL alumni are welcomed and encouraged to attend and reminisce and make many more happy memories. The Golden Graduates (50 year class -- 1961) will be honored at this year's Homecoming on October 1. The Alumni Office is appealing to all alums who may have current information/addresses for members of the 1961 class. Listed below are the names of the Class of 1961 that we have on file.

2011 Alumni Games Set
The annual Alumni Games at Highland Community College will be held on Saturday, August 20. Members of the HCC Alumni Association Board of Directors will be conducting registration of all alumni attending the Games starting at 10:00 am and running until 6:00 pm in the Dean Barber Room of the Scottie Stadium Center on the south side of Kessinger Field. The KNZA Wheel will be available until 6:00 pm for all alumni who register to spin for door prizes. There is no charge to register.
Alums can sign up with KNZA Radio from noon until 3:00 pm for a chance to win a Rumbling Rustler 4x4 ATV from Skyview Equipment of Hiawatha.
The HCC Alumni Games will get underway with the Alum Run at 10:00 am, starting on the track of Kessinger Field. The baseball game will pit the Scottie varsity against a team of alums beginning at 11:00 am, and at noon, the current and former Scottie volleyball squads will compete in Allen Field House.
Afternoon activities will center on alumni and varsity dance team and cheerleaders practice at 2:00 in the Walters Wellness Center. Softball teams take to the field at 3:00 at the Scottie ball park.
Preceeding the national anthem at the evening’s football game, the 2011-12 alumni scholarship recipients and their parents will be recognized. The football game will kick off at 7:00 pm on Kessinger Field, with halftime entertainment by the alumni and varsity dance team/cheerleader squads.
The concession stand will be operated by the HCC Alumni Association Board members throughout the day. Proceeds from the Games support the Alumni Association Scholarship Program.
