The course offers an introduction to the basic principles of geology. The course covers geological measuring techniques, minerals and rocks, internal processes such as plate tectonics, earthquakes and volcanos, and surface processes such as streams, coasts, mass movement and glaciers. This course is intended as a broad-based introduction to geology for students who are not majoring in science. Three hours of lecture and one and a half hours of lab per week.
